Some emotions never disappear in silence. Like the lingering air after wind passes through a quiet garden, they settle slowly into memory and become part of the heart itself. What truly changes a person is often not loss, but the warmth that remains close yet can never be fully held again.

English Version
As time slowly settles everything into a gentler rhythm, Baoyu begins to notice a different kind of quietness within himself. It is not the emptiness left after emotions fade away, but a calmness that still carries warmth beneath its surface. He still pauses beneath familiar corridors and watches evening light drift slowly across the garden, yet the emotions that once unsettled him no longer arrive with the same intensity. Time seems to have softened their edges, leaving behind something quieter and more enduring. He realizes that the deepest feelings are not always the ones that burn forever. More often they resemble a faint light that continues glowing long after its brilliance has dimmed, offering warmth even in silence. Daiyu reaches her own understanding through these passing days. She begins to see that nothing can truly be held in place forever, not emotions, not memories, not even moments once believed to be permanent. Yet transformation is not disappearance. What has existed leaves traces that quietly remain, returning unexpectedly in still moments of reflection. She no longer tries to decide whether people are moving closer or further apart, nor does she search for proof that old feelings still exist in their original form. Instead she allows everything to remain as it is, the same way one watches flowers bloom and fall in a courtyard without trying to interfere. Within that acceptance she discovers a softness that feels almost like freedom. Their relationship changes quietly within this calmness. They still encounter each other from time to time, exchanging brief glances in passing moments, but those glances no longer carry uncertainty or hidden questioning. What remains now is a quiet understanding that only time can create. It is not indifference but a presence that no longer needs explanation. Both of them know something has changed, yet because it changed, something deeper was able to remain. During these peaceful days Baoyu slowly understands why certain emotions can never be completely forgotten. It is not because they were overwhelming, but because they once became part of life itself. Shared moments continue existing long after circumstances change, leaving behind a weight that cannot be replaced. Yet this weight is not painful. Instead it reminds him that he once lived sincerely and deeply. Daiyu, through endless quiet moments, comes to believe that mature emotions do not always require conclusions. They do not need possession, certainty, or even clear definitions. Sometimes they simply exist between memory and time, returning softly in fragile moments like ripples crossing the surface of still water. Brief, delicate, yet undeniably real. She begins to believe that the deepest human connections may lie within these unspoken spaces, places untouched by promises or endings, yet capable of becoming part of another person forever. Fate itself feels gentler now. It no longer rushes people forward or changes their lives through dramatic turns. Instead it allows everything that once happened to settle slowly into a quiet presence within time. And within that presence people gradually learn how to live peacefully beside their past, understanding at last that emotions become precious not because they remain unchanged forever, but because even after changing, they continue leaving warmth behind.
