Chapter 69|Falling Blossoms Before the Courtyard: Every Encounter in Life

2026-07-02

Flowers bloom and fall with the changing seasons, just as people enter and leave one another’s lives. Every meeting quietly reshapes the heart, while every farewell transforms shared moments into treasured memories carried through the years.

English Version
The afternoon breeze wandered gently through the garden, carrying drifting petals across the stone paths until the courtyard seemed covered by a delicate carpet of blossoms. Standing quietly beneath the flowering branches, Baoyu watched each petal float away and found himself thinking about the countless encounters that shape a lifetime. They seemed accidental when they first arrived, yet each belonged to its own season. Some people entered life during its brightest days, bringing laughter, hope, and youthful dreams. Others were understood only after they had already departed, leaving behind lessons impossible to recognize while they were still near. Once, Baoyu believed sincere affection could preserve every beautiful moment forever. Years later, he finally realized that no bond could prevent the turning of the seasons. What truly remains is not the length of time spent together, but the light people leave inside one another’s hearts. Watching the blossoms fall, he understood that every flower had fulfilled its purpose simply by blooming. Even after returning to the earth, its beauty had not been wasted. Shared memories were much the same. Though they could never remain unchanged, they became inseparable pieces of life itself. Nearby, Daiyu gently lifted a fallen blossom into her hands. As she studied its delicate petals, she realized how closely human lives resemble flowers. Every bloom arrives at its proper time, and every fading carries meaning of its own. She no longer feared farewells or mourned the passing of time as she once had. Instead, she discovered that what deserved gratitude was never the ending, but the journey shared before it. Quiet mornings spent admiring spring blossoms, peaceful evenings walking through silent gardens, and moments where understanding required no words had already become permanent parts of her soul. Even if different roads eventually separated them, sincerity itself would remain, returning unexpectedly like a familiar spring breeze. Sunlight filtered softly through flowering branches while shimmering reflections danced across the surface of the lake. The entire garden rested in gentle silence, disturbed only by birdsong and the whisper of moving leaves. Baoyu and Daiyu exchanged no conversation, yet both gazed toward the same flowering tree from different corners of the courtyard. In that silent understanding they recognized something simple yet profound: the beauty of life is not found in permanence, but in cherishing those who stand beside us while they are here. Baoyu remembered hearing long ago that every meeting in life is a blessing carried from another lifetime. Only now did he understand those words. The true value of destiny lies not in how long people remain, but in whether they are loved sincerely while they are present. His old regrets quietly dissolved, replaced by gratitude for every encounter that had shaped him and every farewell that had taught him compassion. Daiyu released the blossom into the wind and watched it drift gently toward the earth with a peaceful smile. Flowers always bloom again when spring returns, and perhaps human lives follow the same quiet rhythm. Every ending carries the promise of another meeting somewhere beyond the horizon. Fate does not simply take people away. It allows each soul to arrive with its own blessing before continuing onward. What truly belongs to the heart never disappears because of distance. Instead, it becomes part of the strength that guides every new beginning. As the final blossom settled upon the ground, the spring breeze continued flowing through the courtyard, the sky remained bright above, and life itself moved gently forward, carrying within it the light left behind by every meaningful encounter.
