Zoku: The Haunted House is the second film in the The Haunted House series, directed by Hideo Nakata, the filmmaker behind Ring. Based on comedian Tanishi Matsubara’s nonfiction Accident Property Ghost Stories: The Haunted House series, the film follows an aspiring entertainer whose decision to live in haunted properties brings him face-to-face with increasingly terrifying supernatural phenomena.

桑田ヤヒロ從福岡來到東京，始終沒有放棄成為藝人的夢想。一次偶然的機會，他開始以「住在事故物件的藝人」身分活動，將自己入住凶宅的經歷，轉化為電視節目及社交媒體上的題材。
為了尋找更加刺激的內容，ヤヒロ先後入住各種充滿謎團的事故物件，包括據說「一定會被附身」的房間、充滿傳聞的古老旅館，以及能夠進行降靈的合租屋。
每一處房子背後似乎都隱藏著不為人知的故事。ヤヒロ一邊調查這些事故物件的過去，一邊親身經歷接連不斷的怪異現象。

English Version
Story
Yahiro Kuwata travels from Fukuoka to Tokyo, determined to pursue his dream of becoming an entertainer. Through an unexpected opportunity, he begins working as an entertainer who lives in haunted properties, turning his experiences inside supposedly cursed homes into material for television programmes and social media.
In search of increasingly unusual stories, Yahiro moves from one haunted property to another. Among them are a room said to inevitably possess its occupants, an old inn surrounded by disturbing rumours, and a shared house where alleged spirit-channeling sessions take place.
Each property appears to hide its own dark history. While investigating the mysteries behind these locations, Yahiro begins experiencing a series of inexplicable supernatural events himself.
His gentle personality makes him particularly vulnerable.
Unlike someone who simply seeks thrills, Yahiro is highly sensitive to the people around him—and, according to the story, this also makes him unusually susceptible to spiritual possession. What begins as an attempt to create entertaining content gradually becomes a genuine fight against terrifying forces.
Eventually, Yahiro encounters something far beyond anything he could have imagined inside one particular haunted property.
There, he uncovers a shocking truth.
Zoku: The Haunted House explores more than the traditional haunted-house formula. Through Yahiro’s unusual profession, the film connects curiosity, entertainment, social media content, and genuine supernatural terror.
When frightening stories created for entertainment begin happening in real life, Yahiro is forced to confront a disturbing question:
