Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway is the 29th theatrical installment of the long-running franchise based on the manga by Gosho Aoyama, directed by Takahiro Hasui. Set between Yokohama’s Minato Mirai district and Tokyo’s highways, the film combines high-speed motorcycle action with intricate detective storytelling, offering a fresh structural twist to the series. The narrative begins with Conan Edogawa, Ran Mouri, Sonoko Suzuki, and Kogoro Mouri heading to a motorcycle festival in Kanagawa alongside Masumi Sera, only to encounter a mysterious black bike speeding recklessly through the city. This incident quickly escalates into a police pursuit led by Chihaya Hagiwara of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Traffic Unit, whose exceptional riding skills nearly lead to the suspect’s capture before the target escapes. Meanwhile, a cutting-edge white police motorcycle known as “Angel” is unveiled, only for the mysterious black bike—dubbed “Lucifer”—to emerge as its dark counterpart, symbolizing a fall from grace. The film interweaves intense chase sequences with classic deduction, maintaining the franchise’s signature balance between action and mystery. Chihaya’s character introduces a new emotional layer, as her memories of her brother Kenji Hagiwara and his colleague Jinpei Matsuda resurface, linking the present case with personal history. Voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro, who succeeds the late Atsuko Tanaka, the character becomes a central highlight. Guest voice actors Ryusei Yokohama and Mei Hata add further appeal.
