Chapter 83|Morning After Snow: Hope Returns Quietly
After a long night of snow, the sky finally clears. Sunlight touches the remaining snow and brings warmth back to the silent garden. Life is much the same. Some hopes do not arrive with noise or celebration; they quietly return when the heart is finally ready to see them.

English Version
Morning arrived after a long night of snow.
The Grand View Garden, which had been covered by darkness and falling snow only hours earlier, now appeared transformed beneath the clear morning sky. Snow remained upon the rooftops, bridges, corridors, and trees, but sunlight had begun turning every frozen surface into countless points of light.
Baoyu stepped outside and felt the crisp morning air against his face.
For the first time in many days, he could see a completely blue sky.
He stood quietly in the courtyard and remembered the night before.
The snow had been so heavy that distant pavilions had nearly disappeared. Every path had been covered, and the darkness seemed endless. On such a night, it was easy to believe that winter would never end.
Yet the sun had risen.
The longest night had finally passed.
Walking slowly along the snow-covered path, Baoyu watched his footprints appear one after another. He suddenly realized that life was much the same.
During the hardest moments, people can see only the road immediately before them. They cannot know how far the darkness will continue.
But if they keep walking, one day they will look back and discover that the coldest part of the journey has already been left behind.
He stopped beside the lake.
Thin ice had begun melting beneath the sunlight. Small reflections shimmered across the water, bringing movement back to the quiet landscape.
The light was not brilliant, yet it made the entire lake seem alive again.
Baoyu looked into the reflection and smiled.
He finally understood that hope rarely appears suddenly.
Sometimes it has been quietly living inside the heart all along, hidden beneath the storms of difficult days.
When the sky clears, we simply learn to see it again.
Elsewhere, Daiyu stood beneath the long corridor.
She reached out and caught a single drop of melted snow as it fell from the roof.
Watching it disappear across her palm, she looked toward the garden and felt something she had not felt for a long time—a quiet sense of anticipation.
She remembered the years behind her.
There had been spring flowers and autumn leaves, bright moons and winter storms.
Some people had arrived and later departed.
Some memories had once caused deep sorrow.
Yet standing beneath the newly opened sky, she finally understood that none of those experiences had destroyed hope.
They had taught her what was truly worth protecting.
Only after living through a long winter can one understand the preciousness of spring.
Daiyu looked toward the rising sun.
Perhaps the future did not need to reveal every answer immediately.
Perhaps simply believing that tomorrow could be better was already a form of courage.
The morning grew brighter.
Snow began melting from the rooftops, each drop sliding gently along the tiles before falling onto the stone steps.
The sound was almost too quiet to notice, yet it felt like proof that the garden itself was awakening.
Baoyu walked slowly along the corridor.
Daiyu approached from the opposite direction.
They did not say much.
They simply stood together beneath the clear morning sky and watched the last pieces of snow fall gently from the branches.
“Spring is almost here,” Baoyu said softly.
Daiyu did not answer immediately.
She looked toward the distant garden and then gave a quiet nod.
In that moment, they both understood something important.
Hope does not mean forgetting the winter that came before.
It means remembering the cold and still choosing to believe in spring.
On a distant plum branch, a single blossom had quietly opened.
It was not large or dramatic. It was almost hidden among the remaining snow.
Yet that small touch of color changed the entire landscape.
Baoyu looked at the blossom and felt warmth returning to his heart.
A new beginning, he realized, does not always arrive with something extraordinary.
Sometimes it is simply a flower.
A ray of morning sunlight.
A drop of melting snow.
Or the quiet decision of someone who has endured many difficult years to believe in tomorrow once again.
Daiyu saw the blossom as well.
She smiled gently.
The past did not need to be forgotten.
Every farewell, every tear, and every season of waiting had become part of her life.
But life could not remain forever in yesterday.
Snow may cover the earth, but it cannot prevent spring from arriving.
Winter may make the world appear asleep, but it cannot stop life forever.
As sunlight finally broke through the last clouds, the Grand View Garden became completely bright.
The water began to move.
Snow continued melting from the branches.
And somewhere in the distance, birds began singing again.
Everything seemed to say the same thing:
A new day had begun.
Standing together beneath the morning light, Baoyu and Daiyu watched the garden slowly awaken.
They finally understood that true hope does not promise a future without storms.
It is the courage to begin again after surviving them.
The snow had cleared.
Winter had not completely disappeared.
But spring had already begun its quiet journey toward them.
