The story follows Toshima, a former yakuza member haunted by the death of his wife, whose illness he failed to notice until it was too late. Consumed by guilt and unable to forgive himself, he abandons his former life and drifts into an unfamiliar city where he survives through temporary jobs and detached routines. In a dimly lit bar, he encounters Saori, a mysterious woman whose calm demeanor hides an unsettling emotional depth. Drawn to Toshima’s quiet despair, Saori gradually involves him in various assignments, offering him a strange sense of direction in an otherwise empty existence. At the same time, Minami, a member of a criminal organization, has grown numb from the repetitive violence and emotional emptiness surrounding his daily life. Tired of living without meaning, he becomes intrigued after hearing about Toshima through Saori. Believing that Toshima’s presence might disrupt the stagnant cycle trapping him, Minami asks him to look after a boy named Shogo. The child is distant, guarded, and emotionally fragile, carrying an invisible burden beneath his silence. Initially treating the task as another obligation, Toshima slowly develops a connection with the boy, recognizing traces of his own loneliness within him. As he spends more time with Shogo, he begins uncovering secrets that reveal the painful reality surrounding the child’s life. Faced with the truth, Toshima makes a decision that goes against the orders imposed on him, choosing instead to take Shogo away from the environment that has imprisoned him.
