《孤獨的美食家》是改編自久住昌之原作、谷口治郎作畫同名漫畫的真人版作品，也是長年深受觀眾喜愛的電視劇《孤獨的美食家》系列首部劇場版電影。
本片由主演松重豐親自執導，再次飾演井之頭五郎，故事將他的美食之旅從日本帶到海外，描寫他為了尋找一道「究極的湯」，走遍法國、韓國、長崎與東京的旅程。
The Solitary Gourmet is the first theatrical film adaptation of the long-running television series Kodoku no Gourmet, based on the manga written by Masayuki Kusumi and illustrated by Jiro Taniguchi.
Toshiyuki Matsushige, who has played the lead character Goro Inogashira throughout the series, also makes his directorial debut with the film. This time, Goro travels across France, South Korea and Japan in search of an “ultimate soup.”

English Version
Goro Inogashira is an import-goods trader who travels for work and often finds himself alone in unfamiliar places. For Goro, however, being alone is never necessarily a problem. When hunger strikes, he simply looks for somewhere to eat and enjoys his meal in his own quiet way.
One day, Goro receives an unusual request from Chiaki, the daughter of his former lover Yukie.
The request takes him to France.
After arriving in Paris, Goro does what he normally does when he is hungry: he finds something to eat before continuing with his business.
He then visits Ichiro, Chiaki’s grandfather.
Ichiro has a simple but deeply personal wish. He wants to drink again a soup he tasted when he was a child.
The memory of that soup has remained with him for years, but recreating it is far from easy.
Ichiro therefore asks Goro to find the recipe and the ingredients needed to reproduce the soup.
The problem is that Goro has only a few clues to work with.
For someone who already enjoys discovering food, however, the search becomes an unexpected adventure.
Following the clues to the “ultimate soup,” Goro travels across France, South Korea and Japan, visiting Paris, a Korean island, Nagasaki and Tokyo.
What begins as a search for one particular soup soon becomes much more complicated.
Along the way, Goro encounters numerous people and becomes involved in a series of unexpected events.
His journey is no longer simply about finding something delicious to eat.
Behind the soup is a story of memory, people and the past.
The film expands the familiar concept of The Solitary Gourmet from everyday meals into a much larger journey across countries and cultures.
Goro travels from Japan to France and South Korea before returning to Nagasaki and Tokyo.
Food and local culinary cultures become important parts of his journey.
On an island under Korean jurisdiction, Goro meets Shiho, played by Yuki Uchida.
He also receives help from a young man named Nakagawa, played by Hayato Isomura.
Chiaki, whose request brings Goro to France, is played by Anne Watanabe, while her grandfather Ichiro is portrayed by Sansei Shiomi.
The film also introduces other characters along Goro’s journey.
The owner of the Chinese-style ramen restaurant Sancerite is played by Joe Odagiri, while Goro’s fellow trader Takiyama is portrayed by Takeo Murata.
Yoo Jae-myung, known for the television drama Itaewon Class, makes a special appearance as a South Korean immigration officer.
These encounters gradually transform what initially appears to be a simple search for a soup into something much larger.
Yet wherever he goes, Goro remains true to his familiar way of life.
When he is hungry, he looks for food.
When he discovers an interesting dish, he stops.
He sits down alone and takes his time enjoying the meal in front of him.
This remains one of the defining pleasures of The Solitary Gourmet.
Goro does not need a crowded table or a group of friends to enjoy a meal.
Eating alone can also be a meaningful experience.
