Kamen Rider Gavv: The Invaders of the Candy House brings Shoma into an unfamiliar world where the dangerous “Dark Sweets” do not exist. Directed by Teruaki Sugihara, the film expands the world of Kamen Rider Gavv, the sixth entry in the Reiwa Kamen Rider era, and places its hero in a strange adventure involving an alternate reality, a mysterious amnesiac and a powerful new enemy. Shoma originally comes from another world and is known for his enormous appetite and his determination to protect ordinary people from the Granute, intelligent lifeforms capable of abducting humans. By eating sweets, Shoma can produce small creatures known as Gochizo, which provide the power he needs to transform into Kamen Rider Gavv. His battles normally revolve around protecting people from threats connected to the Granute and the dangerous world surrounding them. The theatrical adventure begins when Shoma is suddenly pulled into a mysterious door that appears without warning. Instead of arriving in a familiar location, he finds himself in a peaceful alternate world where “Dark Sweets” are completely absent. At first, the new world seems to offer something Shoma has rarely experienced: a place without the same looming danger. Yet his arrival soon leads him to another mystery. Shoma encounters Taorin, a young man who has lost his memory and cannot remember his own past. Rather than simply continuing his journey alone, Shoma chooses to help Taorin recover his memories. Their partnership becomes the starting point of a new adventure, with the two attempting to understand what happened to Taorin and why his missing memories may be important. The apparent peace of the world does not last. A man calling himself Calies suddenly begins attacking the town without discrimination. The peaceful environment is transformed almost immediately as ordinary people find themselves caught in the middle of an unexpected threat. Shoma now has to protect a world that was supposed to be free from the dangers he knows, while Taorin is forced to confront the possibility that his own forgotten past may be connected to the events unfolding around them. Their investigation eventually leads the pair to a gigantic candy house. The enormous structure becomes one of the film’s central locations and appears to contain information that could help them understand the mystery. Shoma and Taorin seem to be getting closer to an important discovery, but their progress is interrupted when Calies returns with a new source of power. Using an unknown Gochizo, Calies undergoes a powerful transformation and begins to overwhelm Shoma and the others. The appearance of this new form changes the balance of the conflict and turns the mystery surrounding the peaceful world into a much more immediate battle for survival. Calies is not simply another opponent. His transformation into Kamen Rider Calies gives him a stronger presence in the confrontation and creates a direct challenge for Shoma as a Kamen Rider. At the same time, Taorin’s search for his own identity becomes increasingly important. The film therefore combines several elements that are familiar to the Kamen Rider tradition while giving them a fantasy-driven setting: an alternate world, a mystery surrounding lost memories, unusual creatures born from sweets, powerful transformations and a battle against an enemy whose motives are not immediately clear. The contrast between the peaceful world without Dark Sweets and the sudden appearance of violence is particularly important to the story. What initially looks like a safe alternative reality gradually reveals another side, suggesting that the absence of one threat does not necessarily mean that the world is truly free from danger. The cast also brings an unusual crossover element to the film. Four members of the dance and vocal group FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE appear in the movie: Sota Nakajima, Sekai, Natsuki Sawamoto and Keito Kimura. Nakajima plays Taorin, the young man whose lost memories become central to Shoma’s journey, while Sekai takes the role of Calies, the powerful enemy who stands against Shoma and Taorin. Calies’ transformation into Kamen Rider Calies adds another level to the confrontation and raises questions about how far his power can develop. The film also introduces the seventh Reiwa Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Zezts, before the new television series begins broadcasting. This early appearance makes the movie significant beyond the immediate story of Kamen Rider Gavv, as it also provides a glimpse of the next chapter in the modern Kamen Rider franchise. One of the film’s major mysteries concerns the peaceful world itself. Why does it have no Dark Sweets, and what does Taorin’s lost memory have to do with the events surrounding Calies? As Shoma and Taorin move closer to the gigantic candy house, the answers begin to appear, but the situation becomes increasingly dangerous as Calies gains new power. Shoma must therefore balance his role as a protector with his promise to help Taorin recover his identity. The story ultimately becomes a journey through an unfamiliar world where appearances can be misleading and where the search for a lost past may be closely tied to the fate of the present. The film is presented as a double feature with Number One Sentai Gozyuger: Resurrection of TegaSword, pairing Kamen Rider Gavv with another major contemporary Japanese tokusatsu production. With its combination of candy-themed fantasy, alternate worlds, mystery, character drama and superhero action, The Invaders of the Candy House offers Shoma an adventure that takes him far beyond the world he already knows. The central question is whether he can help Taorin recover what he has forgotten, defeat the transformed Calies and protect a peaceful world before its hidden dangers destroy the fragile sense of safety surrounding it.
