In an age when the world was still young and the forces of nature ruled without restraint, there lay an immense and restless ocean in the east, known for its unpredictable tides and boundless depth. Near its shores lived a young girl, the daughter of a great ruler, whose spirit was filled with curiosity and courage. She was drawn to the rhythm of the waves, fascinated by the horizon where sky and sea became one. One day, driven by wonder rather than fear, she stepped closer to the water, unaware that the ocean was not merely beautiful but also merciless. Without warning, the tide surged violently, pulling her into its depths, and she vanished beneath the surface, her life claimed in an instant. Yet her story did not end there. From loss emerged transformation. Her spirit took the form of a small bird named Jingwei. Though tiny in size, she carried within her an unyielding will and a memory that refused to fade. Each time she gazed upon the vast ocean, she remembered the moment it had taken everything from her. But instead of despair, she chose defiance. Jingwei made a vow that seemed impossible—to fill the ocean so that it could never harm another life again. Day after day, she flew tirelessly between the mountains and the sea, carrying twigs and pebbles in her beak. The journey was long, the effort exhausting, and the ocean remained vast and unchanged. The wind mocked her, the waves dismissed her actions as meaningless, yet she continued without hesitation. Seasons passed, years turned into centuries, and still Jingwei persisted. Her wings grew weary, but her determination never faltered. To some, her task was futile, an endless struggle with no hope of success. To others, however, she became a symbol of something far greater than the act itself. She represented the courage to confront what seems insurmountable, the strength to continue despite knowing the outcome may never come. Jingwei’s story is not about victory over the sea, but about the refusal to surrender one’s purpose. As the sun sets and the sky burns with colors, her silhouette can still be imagined crossing the horizon, carrying yet another stone. She does not measure progress, nor does she seek recognition. What drives her is not the certainty of change, but the belief that persistence itself has meaning. In her endless flight, she transforms tragedy into purpose, and in doing so, becomes eternal.
