After Dong Zhuo’s death, Wang Yun takes control of the court, and hope briefly returns. However, Dong Zhuo’s former generals, Li Jue and Guo Si, quickly regroup and launch a counterattack on Chang’an. Wang Yun misjudges the situation and refuses to offer amnesty, triggering a violent conflict. Despite Lü Bu’s strength, he stands isolated, and chaos once again engulfs the capital. The fragile hope for stability is shattered.
董卓被誅之後，長安一度恢復平靜。司徒王允掌握朝政，百官稍得喘息，似乎漢室尚有轉機。
然而，這種平靜只是短暫的假象。

最終，李傕與郭汜攻入城中。

呂布雖奮力抵抗，但孤軍難支，最終只能突圍而出，離開長安，開始流亡。
漢獻帝再次落入他人之手，朝廷淪為軍閥操控的工具。
這場反擊，徹底粉碎了董卓死後短暫的希望。
長安再次陷入混亂，百姓苦不堪言。政權更替之間，真正承受苦難的，始終是無辜的人民。

After the death of Dong Zhuo, Chang’an briefly returns to a state of calm. Wang Yun takes control of the court, and for a moment, it seems that order might be restored.
But this peace is fragile.
Dong Zhuo’s forces are not entirely destroyed. His former generals, Li Jue and Guo Si, retreat to the west and quickly regroup. Knowing they will face punishment if they do nothing, they decide to strike back.
Some officials advise Wang Yun to grant amnesty to these remnants in order to avoid further conflict. However, Wang Yun firmly refuses. He believes that pardoning them would only invite future danger.
This decision proves to be a critical mistake.
Li Jue and Guo Si unite their forces and march toward Chang’an, launching a powerful offensive.
The battle intensifies rapidly.
Lü Bu personally leads the defense, using his unmatched combat skills to repel enemy attacks multiple times. However, the opposing forces are numerous and highly motivated.
At the same time, the court lacks effective leadership. Wang Yun, though politically capable, has little military experience. Coordination breaks down, and the defense weakens.
Eventually, the city’s defenses collapse.
Li Jue and Guo Si breach the gates and enter Chang’an. Chaos erupts within the city. Officials flee, and order disappears.
Wang Yun is captured and executed.
Despite his efforts, Lü Bu is unable to turn the tide. With no support, he is forced to break through enemy lines and flee.
The emperor once again falls under the control of warlords.
This counterattack destroys any hope that followed Dong Zhuo’s death. Chang’an descends into chaos once more, and the people suffer greatly.
For Lü Bu, this marks a major setback. He loses his position and becomes a wandering force in an unstable world.
For the empire, it is another reminder:
In this era, there are no true victors.
