Despite his achievements, Liu Bei remains unrecognized and struggles in a minor position. The growing gap between his ideals and reality forces him to reconsider his path. 當時以「十常侍」為首的宦官集團，把持皇帝左右，甚至能左右官員升遷與軍事調動。凡是願意行賄討好者，皆可平步青雲；而真正有功之人，卻往往被埋沒。
劉備正是其中一例。
在平定黃巾之亂的過程中，劉備與關羽、張飛屢立戰功，但最終只被封為一個小小的縣尉。這樣的安排，對於一心報國的劉備而言，無疑是一種沉重的打擊。
上任之後，劉備兢兢業業，盡心治理地方，深受百姓愛戴。然而，他很快發現，官場遠比戰場更加複雜。地方豪強盤踞，貪官污吏橫行，任何改革都舉步維艱。
不久，一名朝廷督郵前來巡查。此人素來貪婪，要求劉備以重金賄賂。劉備不願同流合污，拒絕行賄，結果反被誣陷怠職。
消息傳來，張飛怒不可遏，認為此等小人竟敢欺壓兄長，當即衝入官署，將督郵痛打一頓。此舉雖然出於義氣，卻也觸犯官法。
劉備深知事情已難收拾，只得棄官而去，與關羽、張飛再度踏上流亡之路。
這一次，他們不再是初出茅廬的義軍，而是對世道有了更深認識的失意之人。
劉備開始明白，單靠一腔熱血，難以改變這個腐敗的體制。若要真正實現理想，必須尋找更大的舞台。

Although the Yellow Turban Rebellion is gradually brought under control, the crisis of the Eastern Han Dynasty remains unresolved. Beneath the surface of temporary peace lies growing instability.
Within the imperial court, the power of eunuchs continues to expand. Led by the infamous Ten Attendants, they manipulate political decisions, control appointments, and eliminate opposition. Officials who offer bribes are rewarded, while those with genuine merit are ignored.
Liu Bei becomes a clear example of this injustice.
Despite his contributions in suppressing the rebellion, Liu Bei is appointed only to a minor county position. For a man with great ambitions to restore the Han Dynasty, this is a bitter disappointment.
Nevertheless, Liu Bei carries out his duties diligently. He governs with integrity and earns the respect of the local people. However, he soon realizes that the political system is far more corrupt than he imagined. Local elites hold power, and corrupt officials exploit their authority.
One day, an imperial inspector arrives. Known for his greed, the inspector demands bribes from Liu Bei. Refusing to compromise his principles, Liu Bei declines. In retaliation, the inspector falsely accuses him of negligence.
When Zhang Fei learns of this, he is furious. Unable to tolerate the injustice, he storms into the office and brutally beats the inspector. Though driven by loyalty, his actions violate the law.
Understanding the consequences, Liu Bei has no choice but to abandon his position. Together with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, he leaves and returns to a life of uncertainty.
This time, however, they are no longer naive warriors. They have witnessed the corruption of the system firsthand.
Liu Bei begins to realize that passion alone is not enough to change the world. To fulfill his ideals, he must seek greater opportunities.
Meanwhile, across the land, powerful warlords begin to rise. Regional forces grow stronger, and the authority of the Han Dynasty continues to weaken.
Standing at the edge of history, Liu Bei and his brothers are no longer mere observers—they are about to become key players in a rapidly changing world.
The true beginning of the Three Kingdoms era is drawing near.
