在平定黃巾之亂的過程中，他與關羽、張飛屢立戰功，卻最終只被封為一個小小縣尉。這樣的結果，對於一心想匡扶漢室的劉備而言，無疑是一種沉重打擊。

儘管如此，劉備並未氣餒。他上任後勤政愛民，努力治理地方，深得百姓信任。然而，他很快發現，真正的困難並不在戰場，而在官場。

Although the Yellow Turban Rebellion is gradually suppressed, the crisis of the Eastern Han Dynasty is far from over. Beneath the illusion of peace, deeper instability continues to grow.

Within the imperial court, the power of eunuchs expands rapidly. Led by the infamous Ten Attendants, they manipulate political decisions, control promotions, and suppress capable officials. Bribery becomes the norm, while merit is ignored.

Liu Bei becomes a victim of this broken system.

Despite his contributions in battle, he is appointed only to a minor county position. For someone who dreams of restoring the Han Dynasty, this is a painful disappointment.

Still, Liu Bei remains dedicated. He governs with integrity and earns the trust of the people. Yet he soon realizes that the true battlefield is not war—but politics.

Corrupt officials and powerful local elites dominate the system. Reform becomes nearly impossible.

One day, an imperial inspector arrives, demanding bribes. Liu Bei refuses to compromise his principles. In retaliation, the inspector falsely accuses him of neglecting his duties.

When Zhang Fei hears of this injustice, he is enraged. Acting on impulse, he storms into the office and beats the inspector. Though driven by loyalty, his actions violate the law and worsen the situation.

Understanding the consequences, Liu Bei has no choice but to abandon his post. Together with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, he leaves once again.

This time, however, they are no longer naive heroes. They have witnessed the corruption of the system firsthand.

Liu Bei begins to realize that passion and righteousness alone are not enough. To achieve his vision, he must seek a greater stage.

Meanwhile, across the land, regional powers begin to rise. Warlords strengthen their forces, and the authority of the Han Dynasty continues to crumble.

Standing at the edge of history, Liu Bei and his brothers are no longer observers—they are about to step into a much larger conflict.
